How it works

Zopiclone helps you fall asleep faster and reduces night-time waking. The 7.5mg dose is the usual adult dose for short-term use when sleep difficulties are significantly affecting daily life.

How to take

Take one tablet just before bed, only when you can rest for a full 7–8 hours. Treatment is typically short — often no longer than 2–4 weeks, including tapering — to reduce the risk of dependence and tolerance.

Possible side effects

  • Bitter or metallic taste
  • Daytime drowsiness or 'hangover' effect
  • Dry mouth
  • Dizziness
  • Less commonly: confusion, memory issues, unusual sleep behaviours

Important warnings

  • Do not combine with alcohol or other sedating medicines.
  • Avoid driving or operating machinery if you feel impaired the following day.
  • Use with caution in older adults — a lower 3.75mg dose is often more appropriate.
  • Not for use in pregnancy, breastfeeding, or severe respiratory conditions.
  • Risk of dependence — strictly short-term use, under pharmacist guidance.

Storage

Store below 25°C in the original packaging. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
