How it works

Zolpidem helps you fall asleep faster and reduces night-time awakenings. The 10mg strength is the standard adult dose for short-term treatment of insomnia.

How to take

Take one tablet immediately before bedtime, only when a full night's sleep (7–8 hours) is possible. Do not combine with alcohol. Treatment is intended for short courses only — typically no longer than 2–4 weeks including any tapering.

Possible side effects

  • Daytime drowsiness or feeling 'hungover'
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea or stomach upset
  • Less commonly: memory issues or sleepwalking

Important warnings

  • Do not drive or use machinery if drowsy the following day.
  • Avoid alcohol and other sedating medicines.
  • A lower 5mg dose is often safer for older adults or those with reduced liver function.
  • Not for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • Risk of dependence — short-term, supervised use only.

Storage

Store below 25°C in the original packaging. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
