How it works
Diphenhydramine is a first-generation antihistamine with sedative properties. It blocks histamine in the brain to help promote sleep.
How to take
Adults aged 16 and over: take one tablet 20 minutes before bedtime. Do not take for more than two weeks without speaking to a pharmacist.
Possible side effects
- Daytime drowsiness or 'hangover' feeling
- Dry mouth
- Blurred vision
- Constipation
Important warnings
- Do not drive or operate machinery if you feel drowsy the next day.
- Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine.
- Not suitable in glaucoma, prostate enlargement, or severe liver disease.
- Speak to the pharmacist if pregnant, breastfeeding or taking other medicines.
Storage
Store below 25°C in the original packaging. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
