How it works
Ibuprofen reduces pain, swelling and fever by blocking the production of prostaglandins.
How to take
Adults and children over 12: one or two tablets every 4–6 hours with or after food. Maximum 6 tablets (1200mg) in 24 hours without medical advice.
Possible side effects
- Indigestion or stomach upset
- Headache
- Less commonly: stomach ulcers or raised blood pressure with long-term use
Important warnings
- Take with food to reduce stomach upset.
- Not suitable in active stomach ulcers, severe heart, kidney or liver disease.
- Avoid in the third trimester of pregnancy.
- Speak to a pharmacist if on blood thinners, steroids, SSRIs or other NSAIDs.
Storage
Store below 25°C in the original packaging. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
